The past three years has seen unprecedented circumstances in our education system with the COVID-19 pandemic. Delivery of student education was forced to change with little notice. The education system responded with remarkable agility to move to online teaching and learning at the height of the pandemic. Student learning not only continued, but our educators played a leading role in providing stability, consistency, reassurance, and a sense of normality to our students and the wider community.
Narembeen District High School’s embedded positive culture and strength in leadership saw the school not only successfully navigate these unprecedented times but continue to achieve outstanding student outcomes throughout this period. The schools core values of learning, excellence, equity, and care foster an environment of leadership and resilience, exemplary student behaviour and a drive for students to reach their full potential. Values are developed to not only ensure students achieve at school but are also positive contributors in their wider community.
Narembeen District Highs Schools commitment to its three focus areas of Teaching Excellence, Mental Health, and Our Early Years over the previous 2020 – 2022 business plan period saw the school recognised with the following outstanding achievements.
· 2020 Excellent Public School Review and a 5 year return (2026)
· 2021 Finalist WA Health Department Mental Health Awards
· 2021 Academic Excellence recognition in reading, writing and numeracy NAPLAN results.
· 2022 Top 10 Western Australian Public Primary School results in Year 3 NAPLAN for the 2019 -2021 period.
· 2022 WA Education Awards – Excellence in Teaching and Learning (Primary).

Looking forward to the 2023 – 2026 business plan, the board is committed to performing its governance duties to the highest of standards, ensuring the focus areas, strategies and targets continue to deliver educational excellence. We look forward to continuing to work in a collaborative and constructive manner with the principal and staff.

On behalf of the Board, I would like to recognise School Principal Chris Arnold and the leadership team for their ongoing exemplary leadership, as well as the teaching staff, administration, and wider support staff and for your professionalism and unwavering commitment to our students.
